FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
1. How do I join SSHP?
Complete the membership form and bring membership fee of $76 to the 1st general meeting (9/21/11 @12pm).
****For P4’s, you can bring your forms to Kinyatta at the TSU main campus library on TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 6TH, 2011 from 4-7pm, WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 7TH from 1-4pm or THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 8TH from 4-7pm.
2. If I am not a member of SSHP, can I still go to Midyear?
Yes you can. YOU ARE STILL REQUIRED TO FILL OUT THE PROFESSIONAL MEETING ATTENDANCE FORM AND SUBMIT YOUR DOCUMENTATION BY THE DEADLINE. The Office of Student Services (OSS) must know the name of each and every student that is attending the Midyear Conference regardless of your membership status or whether or not you are seeking reimbursement.
3. How is reimbursement being handled this year?
At this point, our goal is to be able to reimburse every member’s registration fee only. So I would strongly recommend that you carpool, and reserve hotel rooms for groups of 4 to lessen out of pocket expenses. If you are not a member, your registration fee WILL NOT BE REIMBURSED.
Due to budgetary restrictions, DO NOT EXPECT ALL EXPENSES TO BE REIMBURSED! Unless you are representing TSU in an official capacity (i.e. a poster presentation, or the Clinical Skills Competition) you will not be fully reimbursed.
Therefore, if I were you, I would definitely compete in the Clinical Skills Competition (October 26th-28th). The team that wins will represent TSU (in an official capacity) at Midyear. I’m just saying……………
4. I went to the ASHP website to register for Midyear, but I did not receive my discount. What happened?
It takes ASHP approximately three to four weeks to process memberships. It could be that yours has not been processed yet. You CAN still register, and the appropriate adjustments can be made once your membership has been processed by ASHP. Please contact ASHP directly if any adjustments need to be made.
5. I was a member of ASHP last year, can I still register for the conference without joining again this year?
Yes you can. If you were a member last year, your ASHP membership does not expire until 12/31/11. That will qualify you for the ASHP discount only. Please understand that unless you become a member again for the 2011-2012 academic school year, YOU WILL NOT BE REIMBURSED.
